Meredith – John Hopper, president of the Meredith Historical Society board of directors, has announced the appointment of an experienced local bookkeeping and human resources professional as the board’s new part-time administrative assistant.
Lisa Pendergast of Meredith Neck will help the society organize its extensive collection of artifacts, photographs and documents at its Main Street and Farm Museums. A key component of this task will involve moving to an updated version of its museum inventory software to a web-based, multiuser version.
Lisa will also assist Treasurer George Jewell in maintaining the society’s books, and Vice President for Preservation Bonnie Edwards in organizing museum displays, as well as other aid to the society’s board of directors.
Following nearly two decades of experience with local companies J.Jill and Melcher & Prescott Insurance, Lisa is currently a self-employed bookkeeper. She holds associate and bachelor’s degrees from Merrimack College in Andover, Mass.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Lisa helping our board preserve the historical resources of our community,” said Hopper. “She will help fill a gap in administrative help created by the retirement last year of long-time museum staff members Rita Polhemus and Judy Dever.”
